Body Composition Testing

It’s all about measured results!  And without the proper information, it’s impossible to know whether or not you are making progress toward your goals.  That is why Stark uses the most cutting-edge technology in measuring body composition.  So whether your goal is to decrease your bodyfat percentage or build more muscle mass, we can provide the data to make sure you stay on track!

The Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scan is the gold standard in measuring body composition.  Unlike skinfold measurements and bioimpedance readings, the DEXA scan allows for the greatest accuracy in determining the lean muscle mass and bodyfat percentage of an individual.  In fact, DEXA has a greater level of accuracy than hydrostatic weighing (aka the “dunk tank”).  With this level of precision, the Stark team is able to establish a baseline measurement and check at regular intervals to ensure that you are making progress in your body composition goals.

It’s one thing to know whether or not you’re losing bodyfat, but it’s another thing to know WHERE you are losing it.  One of the most common requests we receive at Stark is for help improving specific areas of the body.  The Fit3D scanner allows us to track these changes by taking circumference measurements for 8 different body parts.  With this we are able to determine if you are losing stubborn belly fat, decreasing the size of your thighs, or adding muscle to your arms!
