I’ll Have Fats For Breakfast

You’re doing it all wrong.

Yes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

However, you’d be surprised to know that what you’re eating can adversely affect the rest of your day entirely, and what you’re eating may seem healthy but it’s not feeding your brain.

Many of you out there are starting the day with a nice healthy high-in-fiber cereal, some fruit, or even a nice smoothie of some kind.

Consuming good fats right when you wake up, outweighs the benefits of any of these things, simply because they wake up not just your body, but your brain as well.

Good fats in the morning are triggering the right chemicals in the brain to get you started on your day.

Pumping up the production of important neurotransmitters such as Dopamine and Acetylcholine helps the body feel alert and energized for an extended period of time.

Unlike with cereal where the effects of feeling awake are immediate, but then fall dramatically with blood sugar shortly thereafter.

Avoiding that spike in blood sugar is one of “fat consumption’s” many benefits.

Good fats are typically easy to prepare, many are ready made, helping those who are “on the go.” These fats aid in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, including vitamins A, E, D and K, included in the following foods:

  • Avocado
  • Egg yolks
  • Olive oil
  • Nuts and nut butters (Cashew, Macadamia, Almond)
  • Coconut oil

Another great fat to consume to get your day off to a good start is an MCT Oil.

Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) are a unique form of dietary fat that impart a wide range of positive health and weight loss benefits.

MCT oil, when it is metabolized in the body, behaves more like a carbohydrate than a fat, increasing energy and endurance while enhancing the results of diet and exercise.

MCT’s are water soluble, so, when ingested, travel directly to the liver, in turn triggering fat burning Omega’s. This means that it instantly provides fuel for the body, as well as supporting gut and thyroid health.

So throw away those sugary cereals and eat those fats!
